Well, it’s October and I’ll be separating from the Air Force in February and then hopefully in April, Ryan gets out and we can start our bike trip then. We already got our bikes, clip pedals and shoes, helmets, 2 panniers, sleeping bags, and a few other things. We still need more panniers and clothes. But we’ll be purchasing that some where along the way before March.
We rode a few times around here. It’s been a lot of fun, except for the occasional dog chasing encounters that really freak me out. The hills are good practice and the weather has been beautiful, the bikes ride well too.

We’re trying to learn how to fix certain things like chains, brakes, gears, tires, etc and hopefully soon we’ll be riding with some weight. I’m just afraid that winter’s coming and it’s gonna be mighty cold!
So, for now, I’ll ride as much as I can and enjoy the short nice weather after work. If I could only stop thinking about the trip…I’ve had so many dreams about biking. I’m just too excited.
These are our bikes. Ryan’s is a nice cherry red, you’d wanna lick. Mine’s a bronzish brownish goldish, caramelishishish.
