We Finished Our Trip!!!
GRAND CANYON TO SACRAMENTO (801.1 miles)
From the Grand Canyon we headed toward Pasadena to go visit Ryan’s cousin. The drive was pretty long, took us about 436 miles, pretty much all day. I was ready to rest and ready to be home but it was nice to spend the day with him. We went out for Indian food (my fav! *slurp*) and enjoyed some beer at home afterward, listened to some music and I was in bed pretty early.
The next morning we drove about 364 miles to Sac, not too long of a drive, actually quite beautiful, one of my favorites, I’ll never forget. Oh yeah, we had told his parents we were going to be there Friday, but we showed up Thursday and surprise! I managed to take some more pictures from the car (yes, while driving, I know it isn’t safe), I couldn’t help it though, the sky was gorgeous. Clouds were fluffy, there was so much blue in the sky, so much contrast and it was just really pretty. We finally got home Wednesday evening, walked through the garage and entered the house…walked to the kitchen and his parents luckily were both in the kitchen, it was great. We had a nice dinner and celebrated our arrival I think for the next week. What a warm and wonderful welcome…oh, and we even got a little “welcome home” in the paper :)
The trip seemed forever long. I really hated some parts, especially the slow, windy and looooong days. I enjoyed most of the scenery and the places we stopped by. It was a lot of fun, especially the hotel rooms :) It kinda got old unloading and loading every day though. I felt really bad for our pets: the fish and the turtle, especially the turtle. She didn’t get much sun for almost two weeks or even much rest. We gotta find her a new bigger tank, hopefully she can adapt quickly.
So, we’re home and we’re happy, excited and very tired, I wanna sleep for a week!
