Sedona

TUCSON TO SEDONA (243.8 miles)

We got to Sedona right at sunset, we really wanted to be there for it, but we got distracted seeing Tucson and stopping in other places. I really didn’t know what to expect after seeing photos, I wasn’t sure how amazed I would be. From the second we got there til we left I was in awe. The place is absolutely amazing. I couldn’t describe it, it is so beautiful and strangely, romantic! We were fortunate to get an awesome room with an incredible view. I felt like it was our honeymoon :) I wanted to stay longer and enjoy our room, and the hotel, and going out hiking and biking and doing all the outdoorsy things you can do. There are tons of restaurants, art galleries, shops, etc. Although it may seem a bit “uppiedee” (that’s my way of spelling it), people were really friendly and of course there were tourists everywhere.

Sedona I wasn’t ready for all the construction on the main streets, it kinda took a little magic from the whole thing but nevertheless, it was breath-taking. We dropped off our stuff at the hotel, checked out the view, got some wine and had a nice “fancy” dinner at this place called Ken’s Creekside. They had live music, a duet. Really nice, a little romantic. VERY cold night. We went back to the hotel room and enjoyed some wine. Next morning we woke up with enough time to get ready and check out, drove around, and had a bit to eat (best club sandwich EVER!–with a view!). We checked out some galleries, one which included mineral and fossils, we even saw dinosaur teeth for sale! Didn’t know they could be found outside of a museum, apparently they have too many.

We took as many pictures of the rocks and drove around as much as we could to see the wonderful views but it was time to head out to the Grand Canyon and leave this to enjoy hopefully on our honeymoon this fall :) (yay!)
