Big Rock we Climbed
Big Rock we Climbed

So our bike trip has come to and end. Sadly, but it must be done. We’ll miss Oregon, the rain, the cold, the wind, the pain, the people, the beach, the sand, the parks, grass, crows (not really), chipmunks (not really either), funky biking clothes, setting up our place for the night, making dinner, plastic origami, yucky coffee, other bikers, walking to the bathrooms, nice hot showers, RVs (not really…I hate those), and mostly, the simple life on the road. I will miss it.

So we’ve had short days and no biking days while mostly everyone else are biking 60 plus miles a day, we’re doing 15! But we’ve loved it, we’ve got to take our time to sight-see, something you just can’t miss out on when you visit Oregon the fist time. And we’re glad we did, otherwise we would’ve missed tons of cool stuff.

This place is gorgeous it’s like a hidden jewel we wouldn’t have known of its beauty if it wasn’t for this trip. We met cool peeps, learned a few things here and there, learned what we can bring and what we don’t need, how to eat, and how to prepare for future trips, and most importantly what our bodies are capable of and how quickly it can get in shape if you try hard enough.

So we’re going to CA tomorrow, but don’t think this journey is over. We’re gonna keep biking, as often as possible. It may be a little more challenging at home, especially for me cause I’ll be doing tons of stuff for the wedding and the weather won’t be as cool at home either. Nevertheless, we will keep biking.

Our trip home was great. Mom picked us up at the library and we started going then. We had planned on camping on the way, but Ryan was ok to drive for a few hours. We stopped at a really big sea stack,  climbed to the top–I took a really deep breath and enjoyed feeling like I was at the top of the world. The view was magnificent. What a lovely sight, the sky above us and nothing but water around us. Def. worth the stop.

We had lunch at “The Crazy Norwegian”, a hole in the wall kinda place, fish and chips restaurant in Port Orford. It was recommended by a guy we met at Carl G. Washburne State Park.

So Ryan and his mom drove back home and we got to the house at 7am or something like that. We all crashed really hard. I’m so thankful we had this opportunity, although it ended up being much different than we originally had planned, it was AWESOME.

I don’t know that many people that would have the chance to do something like this, so I’m really thankful we did and took advantage of it. Seeing other bikers also encouraged me to keep doing this from time to time, it’s obviously not impossible, it just takes a little time to plan and save, but since we have all our equipment now, it’s just a matter of saving a few dollars and taking some time off again to experience something else later on.

So keep visiting, I’ll be writing about our other trips too as well as other things (if you don’t mind my bad grammar) :)

Thanks for all those that prayed for us and kept us in your minds and of course, thanks for reading my rubbish and gibberish.
