Miles: 27.1 Total Miles: 271.5
After Reesport we biked 27 miles to Coos Bay. Another shorter trip but it was a real nice one. We stopped by the Umpqua Lighthouse and checked out their museum. Tons of interesting history. Now the Coast Guard owns the lighthouse and they even got old Coast Guard quarters from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Love the history.

- Umpqua Lighthouse
We climbed a short steep hill just outside of the lighthouse state park, after that, the hills got shorter and more gradual, a much better day, but my bum and arms were pretty numb and tired. After that, it got pretty flat for 5 miles or so. We got to this looong bridge to enter North Bend, I thought I was going to fly away. The wind was crazy and it was a crazy chilly. I had to walk my bike uphill, but don’t think that wasn’t a work out, it was just a different kind of work out. Pushing that bike uphill with wind on a narrow path is not easy, especially when you got semi’s flying by your other side. Freaky deaky.
Got to North Bend and decided to do the 3 mile ride to Coos Bay and look for a motel there and go to a movie…to see “UP“. So we did and it was awesome!!!! a MUST SEE! For all ages :) We also ordered some pizza for dinner, it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.
Mustard colors and ugly greens, dusty lampshades too big for the table, shaggy carpet and bathroom too small even for one person. The chair from the desk looked like it was in prison…forever, the phone, even the phone looked like it has been there since the 50s. Anyway, we played card to pass the time after the movie and watched useless tv.
We’ve decided that this would probably be our last day. We stayed at another motel, this was like stepping back in time, I don’t even know where you’d get this kind of furniture anymore, either it’s been here since then, or some crazy people had it.
The next day, we spent the day at the library and waited for Ryan’s mom to pick us up. We don’t wanna end it yet but we have to. We have about 150 miles left to get to the border, that’s the worse part, it’s not that much longer!!!! but, we have to stop here. We need to save some of our money for other priorities.
I’m not ready to end it, and I don’t think the guys are either.

We stayed at Loon Lake Lodge & RV Resort (http://www.loonlakerv.com), one of the more scenic Oregon coast rv parks that offers camping, boating and fishing near the coast. It’s an excellent Oregon coast campground and the lodge also offers cabin and yurt rentals. The Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort is located about 45 minutes from Reedsport. It offers year-round resort Oregon Coast lodging in cabins, yurts and motel rooms, or waterfront camping in scenic tent or RV park sites with full-hookups, satellite TV and Wi-Fi – all on one mile of lake frontage on the scenic Loon Lake. The marina offers jet ski rentals, boat rentals and pontoon boats.
