Anemone

Last time we visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, we only had time for 30 minutes and we spent it mesmerizing the sea horses. This time, our main objective was to stop in Monterey to be at the aquarium all day and immerse our selves with sea creatures. After our Hearst Castle tour, we drove to Monterey and stayed the night to get up and enjoy the next day in town and later visit our friend in Salinas.

On our way, we stopped to watch the sunset from this hill, (didn’t make the actual set), it was extremely windy but marvelous. I took my hat off to feel the wind hit my hair, so we took some silly pictures.

The next day we went to the aquarium. I have never been so amazed at sea creatures, I mean really really really amazed until this trip. I mean, I loved watching the whales and gazing at the sea horses which, I’m totally and utterly in love with…BUT this was just beautiful!!! All the anemone, the weird funny-looking fish, the tiny little stuff that moves around ever so slowly…ugh! SO beautiful. My favorite were most of the anemone, the acorn barnacle which was really interesting, and the ity beety skeleton shrimp. Click on the “i” on the slideshow below to get the info on the pictures.

We spent so much time looking through one section. We took a break from lunch and were supposed to get back but I wanted to leave it for later and not see the whole thing, so we can have something new to come back to another time. I can’t wait…and what’s left!!! more sea horses, fish, jelly fishes! oh…I can’t wait.

After the aquarium, we enjoyed the sun walking down Cannery Row and had some ice cream at Ghirardelli, looking to the bay. We took a drive over to Carmel and walked around the town and I fell in love with the houses. I found a house for sale, our future home. It’s so cute…you can see it towards the end of the slide show. It’s right on the beach, and it had little cut our hearts through out and a funky design, kind of magical. I need some money to buy it now.

Later, we drove  to our hotel room, where we ended the night soaking in the jacuzzi and toasting to our 1 Year Anniversary, with a refreshingly delicious Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere Harvest ale. A special brew for a special occasion.

Enjoy the photos!
