My first scarfette!

I‘ve been teaching myself how to crochet for a few months now. I got some books and watched some videos online that helped me with basic stitches, which I’m still working on. I haven’t done anything too fancy, but I’ve had so much fun learning. I usually take the yarn with me to school so I can crochet on my way there and back. Like I mentioned before, I’m working on opening a little shop, perhaps this fall and maybe by then, I’ll have a more polished collection.

Did you know that crochet is a french word that means “hook”?

For now, I’m sticking to basic stitches and feeling comfortable with those, making as much as I can using the basics. Maybe in a couple of months I’ll post a sneak peek of a few things I’ve made. So far, this is my favorite. I love the yarn, colors and softness. This is for a friend, hope she enjoys. I got the inspiration from this scarf, I loved the natural look, so I used some yarn I had and bought some wooden buttons and double crocheted my way through the whole scarf :) Do you think these would sell?

I’m curious to know how well I did. I’d like to have it inspected…any volunteers?

Well, I’m off to making more!
